23rd March. Hill Climb

This years Hill Climb will take place on Sunday 23rd March

Start time : 11.00am

Entry fee: £1.00 on the day.

Venue: Old Pol Hill.

The start is next to a the former Polhill Arms and a lay by at the top of Polhill between the Badgers Mount roundabout and Morleys roundabout on the A21.

Tea, coffee and home made cakes will be served.

This event is primarily a bit of fun, open to all ages and abilities with a cunning handicap to even things up, with a team prize for the 3 fastest combined times of the various section of the West Kent.

Entries are open to all, including non CTC / CycleUK members and so please encourage your friends to have a go. The fastest West Kent rider will be awarded the prestigious Martin Davis cup, onto which their name will be engraved for posterity, and prizes will be awarded for 1st lady, junior and veteran (over 70).

Even if you don’t fancy riding, it is a good opportunity to meet up with club mates and to support the event, which does take a significant number of volunteers to enable it to happen.

Put it in your diary, and looking forward to seeing you there.

Following the event members will have lunch before going to the AGM which starts in nearby Knockholt at 2pm.   There is a pub serving food (the Three Horseshoes)  near to the AGM venue.  There is also the Coolings garden centre but that tends to be very busy.

23rd March. AGM

West Kent CTC will be holding its Annual General Meeting on 23rd March at 2pm at the Knockholt Village Centre (the village hall).  This is an opportunity to hear how we have been getting on and to discuss any issues of concern.  Light refreshments will be served after the meeting.

2nd March. Anniversary Ride

On 2nd March we will be celebrating 101 years since the first ride of West Kent CTC.  Members from the various groups will meet at the Sennockian (Wetherspoons), Sevenoaks, for an 11 am start.  We will ride together to the Duke of Wellington, Ryarsh, where we will have lunch.  The pub will not be serving sandwiches or baguettes.  Other members will make their own way to the pub.  Members will make their way home in various groups.
